172 Baucis172 Baucis is a fairly large Main belt asteroid. Its composition is a mixture of rocks and metallic iron-nickel. It was discovered by Alphonse Borrelly on February 5, 1877 and named after a character in the Greek legend of Baucis and Philemon.
