Asteroid (4143) Huziak is named in honor of Richard Huziak. It was discovered on August 29, 1981 at Socorro, New Mexico by Laurence G. Taff. 4143 Huziak is a main belt asteroid, which means it orbits the Sun in the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. It is believed to have a diameter of about 21 km. It has an elliptical orbit, with a perihelion of 2.49 AU and an aphelion of 3.68 AU. Its orbital plane is tilted relative to the ecliptic by 2.0337 degrees. One Huziak year is equal to 5.4221 Earth years.
