Al-KhayzuranAl-Khayzuran a former slave girl from Yemen, and mother of the Caliph Harun al-Rashid which was the 5th and most famous Abbasid Caliph from 786 until 809. Al-Khayzuran, a woman of strong personality, greatly influenced Harun and the affairs of the empire in the reigns of her husband and sons until her death in 789. |
