Anzac class frigate
The eight Anzac class frigates are the most modern major surface units in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN.) They are a modified German MEKO 200 design. Two additional units were built for New Zealand and are sometimes known as the Te Kaha class frigates. All 10 units have been built at Williamstown, Victoria. Australian units are numbered FFH 150 - FFH 157. New Zealand units are numbered F 77 and F 111. The RAN is in the process of acquiring 3 AEGIS air warfare destroyers, but has not yet selected a platform. A modified and upsized variant of the Anzac hull is a possibility.
