Arab (automobile)

Arab (automobile)

The Arab was an English automobile designed by Reid Railton and manufactured between 1926 and 1928. The 1926 model sported a 2-liter engine, an ohc four-cylinder with leaf-valve springs similar to those found on Parry Thomas's Leyland Eight. The Welshman died in 1927 attempting to break the World Land Speed Record, and with his death Railton lost interest in the Arab. This was something of a pity, as the two-seater was good for 80 mph, and the more powerful Super Sports was said to have been capable of going 90 mph.
