Batty boy
Batty boy is Jamaican slang for a homosexual man. It stems from the Patois word batty meaning bottom, and means someone who likes anal sex. The term is popular among young people in the United Kingdom. It was first heard in the UK in a song by Jamaican ragga musician Buju Banton entitled "Boom Bye Bye". The chorus of the song, which advocates shooting homosexuals, and is considered by many to be homophobic, is: - Boom Boom bye bye, in a batty boy head,
:Rude boy nah promote no nasty man, :Them hafi dead. The term hasn't lost its homophobic overtones in contemporary parlance, and is used by young people as an insult, even if they are unaware of the target's sexual orientation. As such it is considered to be highly derogatory. The terms fag and faggot have similar overtones in North America.
