Chiana

Chiana is a Nebari, a blue-grey skinned race whose society is heavily regimented by the government (called The Establishment). Chiana's independent ways made her a target for government reprogramming, but she escaped, and ended up a prisoner on Moya with the rest of the crew.

Chiana is best known for her adventurous spirit, and open nature. She has displayed that she is a more than competent fighter, and amazingly agile and acrobatic. She tends to crouch on objects, rather than sit or stand.

Chiana has had a romantic attraction to D'Argo, which underwent several shifts during the course of the series. She also has displayed an attraction to John Crichton, who has bestowed upon her the nickname "Pip" (which is reportedly actor Ben Browder's real-life nickname for Gigi Edgley).

Chiana was present, and assisted, with the birth of Moya's son, Talyn and maintained an emotional connection with both Moya and Pilot after the event.

After Chiana's encounter with an Energy Rider she has begun to experience precognitive visions that leave her with blindness and splitting headaches. These visions later evolved into being able to see in slow motion, and each time she used this ability, the blindness afterwards lasted longer, until she ended up competely blind. Later on she received new eyes from a Diagnosan that allowed her to see energy sources and to see through walls.
