DN1

The Romania's DN1 road links Bucharest with the north-west part of the country. On the section Bucharest - Ploiesti traffic jams appear very often due to the fact that DN1 serves the Bucharest 's airports Henri Coanda (Otopeni) and Bǎneasa and the touristic region Valea Prahovei (Prahova's valley).

The construction of the new A3 motorway began in july 2004. It is planned that A3 will take the traffic from DN1.
