Ellen Goodman
Ellen Holtz Goodman (born 11 April 1941 in Newton, Massachusetts) is an American journalist. She was awarded the Pulitzer prize for Distinguished Commentary in 1980. She is the daughter of Jackson Jacob Holtz, and Edith Weinstein Holtz. Goodman graduated (cum laude) from Radcliffe College in 1963 with a degree in modern European history. She married Anthony Goodman in 1963 and gave birth to their daughter Katie in 1968. She married her second husband, journalist Bob Levy in 1982. She worked as a researcher and reporter for Newsweek magazine between 1963 and 1965, and has worked as an associate editor and columnist at the Boston Globe since 1967.
