Evian Masters
The Evian Masters is a women's professional golf tournament which is played in France each July. Founded in 1994, it is recognised as a major by the Ladies European Tour. It is not classified as a major by the LPGA Tour, but it has been part of the LPGA Tour's schedule since 2000. It is played the week before the Women's British Open, which is a major on both tours, which makes it convenient for U.S. based players to participate. The 2004 prize fund was $2.5 million, which was the second largest in women's golf after the U.S. Open.
