Fagernes is the administrative centre of the municipality of Nord-Aurdal.Fagernes is a important destination for tourism in Norway, due to good communications and beautiful nature in the surrounding Valdres valley and mountain areas, like Jotunheimen. The local airport is Fagernes Airport.
