Faulkner University
Faulkner University is a private Christian university located in Montgomery, AL, affliated with the Church of Christ. The University was founded in 1942 as Montgomery Bible College. In 1953 the school's name was changed to Alabama Bible College. In 1965 the college was moved to its present location on Atlanta Highway. 1975 marked the beginning of the school's satellite [[campus]es in Mobile, Huntsville, and Birmingham. In 1985 the school was renamed to Faulkner University in honor of Dr. James H. Faulkner, Sr., a longtime supporter and chairman of the board. Student LifeAll full-time students who are not married or do not live with their parents are required to live in the dormitories. Seniors and students 21 years or older are exempt from this requirement. Attendance is manditory at the school's daily chapel service at 10:00 AM. Faulkner University does not have national fraternities or sororities. Rather they have gender-based social clubs. Currently there are eight social clubs — Alpha Alpha Alpha, Delta Xi Omega, Phi Lambda, Alpha Delta Psi, Zeta Eta Theta, Epsilon Phi Upsilon, Kappa Sigma Phi, and Lambda Alpha Chi. Club members participate in Jamboree, a spring musical, among many other social activities.
