Fry's Supermarkets
Fry's Supermarkets is a chain of supermarkets that has a large presence in the American western region. Fry's central offices are located at Phoenix, Arizona. Fry's is owned by the grocery conglomerate Kroger. Fry's competes directly with Safeway, particularly on the Arizonian market. The company had some economic trouble during the middle 1990s, and some of their supermarkets had to be closed. Nevertheless, by the end of that decade, new locations were added. New Mexico was the first state outside Arizona to which Fry's expanded. Presently Fry's has supermarkets in 16 American states. See also Fry's Electronics
