Fuzzy Knights

Fuzzy Knights

Fuzzy Knights of the Dinner Table is a popular online comic created, written and directed by Noah J.D. Chinn. It stars small, fuzzy stuffed animals who enjoy role-playing games such as Hackmaster and Dungeons & Dragons. What started out as a one-shot tribute to Kenzer & Company's gamer comic Knights of the Dinner Table turned into a cult hit that continues to gain new fans with every strip. Even Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons & Dragons, is an admitted fan of the Fuzzy Knights and wrote a promo for the trade paperback.

The first online strip appeared on Noah's personal website on December 8, 2002. Not long after, it was given a print strip within the Knights of the Dinner Table comic itself, starting with issue 75. Fuzzy Knights moved to the KenzerCo website on April 8, 2003 with updates twice a week. December 2003 saw the Fuzzy Knights' first 22 online strips reprinted in a trade paperback that included liner notes from the creator and bonus strips.

The main stars of the strip are four stuffed animals. Mossfoot, the adventurous green teddy bear, is the leader of the group. Violet, the violet and sometimes violent teddy bear, is Mossfoot's girlfriend. The others are Target, the black cat, and Ben Bunny, who speaks with a Scottish accent that occasionally slips into Jamaican. Collectively they call their role-playing group the Fuzzy Knights. They also have had several adventures away from the gaming table.

Many other living "fuzzies", as the characters are called, inhabit the Fuzzy Knights world. Most of them seem to be drawn toward playing role- playing games as well. The first story arc of the series involves fuzzies gathering from around the world for a Hackmaster tournament that ended up turning into a war against an insane hamster toy named HamaEstra and his army of robots made of batteries, small paper cups, and toilet paper tubes. Earlier in the series HamaEstra captured and killed Santa Claus.

The Fuzzy Knights cast and crew started production in facilities in Tokyo, Japan but have recently made the move to a new studio in London, England.

Recently Fuzzy Knights embarked on a new storyline (after a short hiatus, due to the move to London). Noah celebrated his return to online publishing with a flurry of talent and disdain for egotistical moviemakers abroad. The still-frame Fuzzy Knights now have a live action promo film! (With a shot or three at psuedo docu-mercials seen for upcoming films.) Fuzzy Knights the movie 2

Fans of the comic gather to discuss the latest fuzzy escapades at the Fuzzy Knights forum (at the Kenzerco forum), as well as the Official Fuzzy Knights Fan Club.
