Gerald Grattan McGeer

Gerald Grattan McGeer (January 6, 1888-August 11, 1947) was a politician in the Canadian province of British Columbia, who was active in the 1930s and 1940s.

He was a lawyer, and served as Mayor of Vancouver from 1935 to 1936 before entering federal politics as a candidate for the Liberal Party. He was defeated three times, in the elections of 1925, 1926 and 1930, before winning in the riding of Vancouver—Burrard in 1935. He was subsequently re-elected in 1940.

On June 9, 1945, McGeer was appointed to the Senate by Prime Minister Mackenzie King. He was re-elected as mayor of Vancouver in 1947, and was both mayor and a senator until his death in office later that year.
