The Counts of Ghajn Tuffieha

• Titled: Mary Frances McCutcheon Teuma Castelletti, as the 6th Countess of Ghajn Tuffieha.
• Heir: (her eldest son) Peter Donald McCutcheon, as the Contino.

The title of Ghajn Tuffieha, a fief was bought, sold or Extinct through to the Present Grant.

Ferdinand Teuma Castelletti, a jurat of Notabile and Deputy was created Count of Ghajn Tuffieha in 1792 by the Grand Master de Rohan-Polduc, with remainder to his issue in perpetuity.

During the last years of the Order of Malta, Hompesch appointed three Counts (Manduca, Barbaro and Teuma Castelletti) and one Marquis ( Mallia-Tabone) as Jurats of Notabile.

Ferdinando was one of the leaders of the Maltese uprising against the French in 1798, and dying in 1821, succeeded by his son, grandson, and great grandson, dying in 1959, unmarried and also a priest.

His successor, his younger and surviving brother, Saverio Alfonso, becoming the 5th Count. He migrated to Canada, upon his death, the title went into abeyance.

Saverio’s grand daughter, Mary Frances succeeded when the title was called out in 1989 and is the present holder of the title.

Mary Frances resides in Canada, married in 1952 to Donald McCutcheon and has four Children.
