Guido Gybels
Guido Gybels, Clement Louis, (born 12 October 1968), is a Belgian researcher. He is currently Director of New Technologies at the British RNID. He was born in Leuven, Belgium, but has been living and working in the UK since 2001. Best known as a software developer and computer scientist, but also well-versed in linguistics, history, psychology and other fields. In addition to his technical work, also very active and relentless campaigner for equal rights for excluded groups, disabled people in particular. Has lifted deafness and hearing loss related issues onto the agenda of the European Commission. Has given lectures and presentations all over the world, and has together with the deaf engineer Arnoud van Wijk worked intensively as a member of various IETF working groups on making technology more accessible for people with disabilities. Also well known as a Borland Delphi expert.
