Haralssund is located on the east-coast of Kunoy and is connected to the village Kunoy on the west-coast by a tunnel. On the east it is
to Bordoy (Klaksvik) by a dam. The tunnel and the dam were built in the late 1980’s. 2 kilometers south of the village there is a small ruin. Legend says that there was a Dutch community here many years ago.
