HieromonkA hieromonk in Eastern Orthodoxy is a monk and the priest at the same time.A hierodeacon is a monk who is a deacon. These are ranks in the Church hierarchy. A hieromonk is of higher dignity than a hierodeacon. Proper addressing will be "the Reverend Hieromonk" and "the Reverend Hierodeacon", respectively.
