Hietaniemi beachHietaniemi beach, the greatest sand beach in Central Helsinki, is located in the Töölö district, next to the Hietaniemi Cemetery. Many people who stay in the city during the summers go there for swimming and sun bathing. It is especially trendy amongst the young people and acts as a place for people watching. The beach is also a popular place for playing beach volley, and often during the hottest season it is the location for special events.
