Honavar
Honavar is a coastal town in the North Kanara District of Karnataka, India. It lies on the coast of the Arabian sea and on the banks of the river Sharavathi which forms an estuary there. Though of no significant importance by itself, Honavar is known for the palces of scenic beauty and religious importance that flank it. Some of these include the towns of Murdeshwar and Idagunji, both places of religious importance and Karikanamma, a scenic mountain that has the breathtaking view of the Arabian sea. Honavar also hosts a port/harbour that was one of the most important ones on the west-coast shoreline of India during the time of Marco Polo.
