Hunein Ibn Ishak
Hunein Ibn Ishak (809-873), a Nestorian Christian, born in Syria, wrote in both Syriac and Arabic, was author of Sayings of the Philosophers & Introduction into the Science of Medicine. His philosophy is interesting in that it had the same fate as the very ancient Greek philosophies that he transcribed; Copyists from which he gained his sources were unable to differentiate between who the exact author was and what was copied. Thus Hunein confounded Socrates with Diogenes, Plato with Bias, etc. With such content, it is now unknown whether his works consisted of his own philosophy inspired by such works, or a reformulation of falsely amalgamated Greek thought assumed to be an honest interpretation, though similarly unique.
