Hurricane BerthaHurricane Bertha was a Cape Verde type hurricane that formed in July 1996. It was a category 3 at peak strength but made landfall in Wilmington, North Carolina as a category 2, causing a 6 foot high storm surge. It caused $270,000,000 dollars in damage, and killed 8 people.
