HVDC MoyleThe HVDC Moyle is the HVDC link between Auchencrosh in Scotland and Ballycronan More in Northern Ireland, which went in service in 2001.The HVDC Moyle consists of two monopolar 250kV-DC cables with a transmission capacity of 250 megawatts. The static inverters are completely equipped with photo thyristors. As line connection a 63.5 kilometer long monopolar cable is used, of which 55 kilometers are implemented as submarine cables.
