Judas

Judas (יהודה "Praise", Standard Hebrew Yəhuda, Tiberian Hebrew Yəhûḏāh) is the name of several men in late Jewish and New Testament history:

Judas Iscariot, betrayer of Jesus
Judas Maccabaeus, Jewish revolt leader
Judas the Zealot, alternate name of Simon the Canaanite
Judas of Galilee, Jewish revolt leader

Judas Priest, the music group, took its named from a minced oath.

Judas is also a common derogatory nickname for those, who after reaching some kind of prominence in an institution, change to rival/opposite sides for financial reasons. This often happens in sports.
