Kajiki, Kagoshima

Kajiki (加治木町; -chou) is a town located in Aira District, Kagoshima, Japan. It is located N of Kagoshima. Kajiki is located on the northern part of the bay. The Kagoshima Airport is to the north.

As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 23,364 and the density of 491.87 persons per km². The total area is 47.50 km².

It is accessed with the Kyushu Expressway at Interchange 25-1 along with the Junction and access with another freeway linking to and in the east. The interchange was opened in December 13, 1973 and extended north to Mizobe-Kagoshima Airport on November 29, 1976. In March 25, 1992, a section was opened which became the East Kyushu Expressway on December 19, 2001 when the expressway became connected.

Kajiki has schools, middle schools, a school including the Kajiki High School, the Kajiki train station, a post office, parks and banks. A river runs slightly west of Kajiki.

Kajiki is located on a small valley and a plain. The mountains dominate the north and west.

It is bounded with Mizobe to the north.
