Kelvin MacKenzie
Kelvin MacKenzie (born October 22, 1946) is a media figure in the United Kingdom. He is best known for his role as editor of The Sun newspaper from 1981 to 1994 and is remembered as the man responsible for the paper's coverage of the Hillsborough disaster. The paper made untrue allegations about the Liverpool fans, including that they were pick-pocketing the victims and urinating on the policemen. As a consequence, the paper still sells very poorly in Liverpool. MacKenzie has been described by Piers Morgan as being 'a brutal editor with a particular form of dangerous genius'. He now works as chief executive of The Wireless Group PLC, a quoted company controlling a wide variety of UK local radio stations, including TalkSport (formerly Talk Radio).
