Law School Admissions Council

The Law School Admissions Council is a nonprofit organization whose members are 202 law schools throughout the United States and Canada. Its headquarters are in Newtown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania (about 30 miles north of Philadelphia).

In 1947, representatives from the University of Virginia, Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and the University of Pennsylvania formed the Law School Admissions Council to coordinate, facilitate, and enhance the law school admission process.

The Law School Admissions Council is best known for administering the LSAT. It also operates a service called the Law School Data Assembly Service which assembles information on a law school applicant's undergraduate and LSAT performance into a standard report.
