1964-1971: Giuseppe Saragat (1898-1988)
1971-1978: Giovanni Leone (1908-2001)
1978-1985: Alessandro Pertini (1896-1990)
1985-1992: Francesco Cossiga (born 1928)
1992-1999: Oscar Luigi Scalfaro (born 1918)
Since 1999: Carlo Azeglio Ciampi (born 1920)
