Ljuboten
Ljuboten (Macedonian Љуботен; Serbian Љуботан, Ljubotan) is mountain peak at Sar Planina at the border between Republic of Macedonia and Serbia and Montenegro. Its height is 2498 meters. Main information At the Macedonian side of this beautiful peak are located several more significant places: mountain house "Ljuboten", Shija Ljubotenska (Ljuboten's Neck), Kozja Karpa (English Goat's Rock), Shiljast Kamen (Pointed Rock), Rogacevski Korita. Ljuboten is favourite destination of many mountain climbers from Europe. Its terrains are rich with pastures, but also there are rocky parts. Livadicko Ezero (Livadica Lake) and few sheepfolds are near the peak, too. In wintertime there are over 1m of snow at Ljuboten. The mountain house at Ljuboten is located in the foothill of the peak and is connected with a road to Vratnica. It takes 2-3 hours from Vratnica to Ljuboten mountain house. This house is open from March till November and offers room and board for 80-100 people. Every year at Ilinden (August 2), national holiday of Macedonia, more than 200 people are enjoying in the untouched nature of Ljuboten and Sar Planina (Shar Mountain).
