Lollerpede
Lollerpede is another variant of the Internet slang of LOL (Laughing out loud). It is very similar in design to other more popular ASCII pictures, such as Lollerskates or Roflcopter.
Background
Pictures (such as Lollerpede, Lollerskates and Roflcopter) are similar in that they all are simple ASCII art animations that use a form of Internet slang in their construction. Many words that follow this pattern can be easily created, combining Internet slang together with words that contain the same sounds. For example, the term ROFL (rolling on floor laughing) can be combined easily with the word “flamingo” because both feature the “fl” in the spelling. The sounds of the beginning and end of the word will come together to form one word. The resulting word in this case would be a “Roflamingo”. Many ASCII animations can be found around the Internet that are based on word combinations with Internet slang. Naturally, as with most Internet vocabulary and grammar, there is no true guideline as to what is correct and what is incorrect in creation of such animations.
