Lord Commander Solar Macharius
Lord Commander Solar Macharius is a charactor from the tabletop minature wargame Warhammer 40000. He was undoubtably the greatest Imperial Guard commander of all time, taking his army across the galaxy to the edges of interstellar space. Almost a thousand worlds were brought into the Imperium in seven years, and the conquest was only stopped by his men refusing to go any further. They refused because they were moving out of the range of the Emperor's protection in the psychic cold of the depths of space. After the death of Macharius, his empire split up as his generals fought over the land, undoing much of what Macharius had strived to achieve. The rules for him are no longer in print, but they are available on the internet on the Games Workshop website.
