Man-Bat
Man-Bat is a fictional character in DC Comics' universe who first appeared in Detective Comics #400, illustrated by Neal Adams. Man-Bat is the alter-ego of Dr. Kirk Langstrom, a biochemist who was attempting to create a potion that would enable the Batman to develop truly bat-like powers. However the experiment went dangerously wrong when the Batman and a gang of criminals became engaged in a fight in Langstrom's laboratory. Thinking that he could help Batman defeat the criminals, Langstrom tested his new potion on himself. The resulting Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde-like discovery inadvertently transformed Langstrom into the crazed human-bat hybrid called the Man-Bat. The Man-Bat was defeated and cured by Batman. However, Langstrom has often returned to the form of the Man-Bat, sometimes retaining a degree of intelligence and acting as a vigilante. Dr. Langstrom has a wife named Dr. Francine Lee and two children, a daughter named Rebecca and a son named Aaron. Aaron was born with bat mutations passed on to him from his father whose DNA had been altered by the Bat-Extract he uses to transform himself.
