Maverick Hunters

The Maverick Hunters is an organization from the science-fiction video game series Mega Man X. X, a sentient robot, was the template for an entire series of such robots, known as Reploids, which served mankind peacefully. Some of them, however, went Maverick, harming their human masters or fellow Reploids. When outbreaks of Maverick behavior became too common, Dr. Cain (X's discoverer and the creator of the Reploid line) put together the Maverick Hunters, who would track down and neutralize Mavericks. The Hunters have suffered many casualties over the years (Zero, for instance, has died a number of times, and at one point the Hunters' leader, Sigma, went Maverick and took almost the entire corps with him), but have never died out entirely, nor failed to counter any threat.

Originally more of a police force, the Hunters have expanded into a significant military organization. Not every unit has been specified, but here are the few we know:
