MCU

MCU

An MCU or microcontroller unit is a single chip that contains a processor, RAM, ROM, clock and I/O control unit. Hundreds of millions of MCUs are used in a myriad of devices ranging from automobiles to action figures.

MCU may also stand for Minimum Coded Unit, an indication of how Interleave JPEG images are subsampled and processed to create the 'rough view' of the image as it is loaded.
