MDX

Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) is a language that helps unlock the capabilities of OLAP databases.

Since its release in commercial products in 1998, MDX has quickly grown in acceptance and use by the analytical application community. Servers that support MDX are provided by Applix, Microsoft, Microstrategy, SAS, SAP and Whitelight. Many client tools generate MDX.
