Mercedes-Benz C-Class

DaimlerChrysler assembles the C-Class, a series of automobile models, in Stuttgart and offers it to the public under the Mercedes-Benz brand. The C-Class was introduced for the 1994 model year as a replacement to the popular 190E and other similar Mercedes models. For the 2001 model year, DaimlerChrysler introduced a new generation of the C-Class, and in 2004, it planned to make minor modifications to the model for the 2005 model year. As of 2004, the C-Class automobiles are the cheapest in the Mercedes-Benz line of models availble in the US.

Powertrain

In the 2004 model year, the C-Class' powertrains are comprised of the one following engines

  • a supercharged dual overhead camshaft I4, generating 260.3174 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm
  • an overhead camshaft V6, generating 239.9801 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm
  • an overhead camshaft V6, generating 299.6362 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm
  • a supercharged overhead camshaft V6, generating 450.1322 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm

in addition to a manual or automatic transmission, and a rear-wheel or all-wheel drive system.

    Mercedes C-Classes are built in Sindelfingen, Germany and Bremen, Germany. The very first 1994 Mercedes C-Class rolled off the assembly line on June 1, 1993. The very first 2001 Mercedes C-Class rolled off the assembly line on July 18, 2000.
