Misdreavus

Misdreavus

Misdreavus is a Ghost-type Pokémon which is only obtainable in Pokémon Colosseum, Pokémon Gold, Pokémon Silver, Pokémon Crystal, and Pokémon LeafGreen. It is a fairly useful Pokémon to have, because of its ability and its stats. Misdreavus is number 200 in the Johto/Kanto Pokédex and number 200 in the National Pokédex as well. Misdreavus is an elusive Pokémon that lives in dark caves, screeching and wailing at foes, as well as biting at intruding humans' hair.

In LeafGreen, Misdreavus are only found in the Lost Cave, which is inhabited by Ghost Pokémon such as Gastly and Haunter, as well as the bat Pokémon Zubat and Golbat.

Pokédex definition

Ruby/Sapphire: Misdreavus frightens people with a creepy, sobbing cry. The Pokémon apparently uses its red spheres to absorb the fearful feelings of foes and turn them into nutrition.

Battle strategy

Misdreavus is well known for having some of the most annoying movesets in the Pokémon game, as well as plenty of useful attacks. Misdreavus is most notorious for its Perishtrapping technique–a combination of the attacks Mean Look and Perish Song to defeat the foe very quickly. When combined with moves like Confuse Ray and Protect, Misdreavus can destroy the foe without suffering much damage at all.

Misdreavus' most notorious moves: Mean Look, Perish Song, Pain Split, Spite, Confuse Ray, Destiny Bond.

Thanks to breeding, Gengar can also Perishtrap by breeding with Misdreavus. Other Perishtrappers: Murkrow, Jynx, and Smeargle (since Smeargle is capable of learning every attack).

Anime appearances

Misdreavus starred in the special episode 3: "Raikou, Legend of Thunder," yet to be released in the US and UK. It also starred in another Pichu Bros. special: Pichu Bros. in Party Panic and several Pokémon episodes.
