Mitcham Junction station

Mitcham Junction station

Mitcham Junction is a National Rail station and Tramlink stop in Mitcham in south London. It is in the London Borough of Merton.

There is no longer a junction at Mitcham Junction: one of the two lines that crossed there, the West Croydon to Wimbledon line, has become a Tramlink route. The other line is used by services between Sutton and London Victoria or London Bridge. This line still has sharp curves at either end of the station where the junctions were. Speeds are therefore limited to 15 mph. Mitcham Junction is in Travelcard Zone 4.

Mitcham Junction is not located in the centre of Mitcham itself but is nearer the historic Cricket Green Conservation Area, across Mitcham Common. The nearest mainline railway station to the commercial centre of Mitcham is Tooting railway station.
