Mokugyo

A Mokugyo (木魚, Chn: Mu-Yü) is a wooden drum used during Zen rituals involving recitation of the sutras, and is also used by Taoists. It is often
carved in the form of a fish from one piece of wood. In Buddhism the fish, which never sleeps, symbolizes wakefulness.
