Most of the village is bounded by a triangle of transport corridors, including two famous roads of greatly differing ages. To the east of the village lies the M1 motorway, whilst the Fosse Way (a roman road) passes along its western side. The course of part of the Fosse Way is no longer visible as the main road now follows a course further east.

A railway line, running alongside the River Soar, completes the triangle. Narborough railway station, on the Leicester to Birmingham line, is only other station in Leicester aside from the central station. There is a level crossing adjacent to the station.

To the north east of the village lies Carlton Park, an office park that includes the headquarters of Alliance & Leicester, who employ over 1,800 people locally.

All Saints’ Church was originally constructed in the 13th century, but has undergone substantial reconstruction over the centuries.

The name 'Narborough' originally meant 'North Stronghold'.

Surrounding villages include Enderby, Whetstone, Cosby, and Huncote.
