National Memorial

 

National Memorial

In the United States, National Memorial is a designation for a protected area that is commemorative of an historic person or episode. National memorials are Congressionally-granted designations and are part of the U.S National Park Service. The memorial need not be located on a site related to the subject.

Many, but not all U.S. National Memorials are administered by the U.S. National Park Service. Some have administration devolved to state park systems.
