Neighborhoods of Minneapolis
The city of Minneapolis, Minnesota is divided into dozens of official neighborhoods, most of which coordinate certain activities under the Neighborhood Revitalization Program [1]. In some cases, two to four neighborhoods act together under a single neighborhood organization. Additionally, some areas of the city are not organized into neighborhoods or are otherwise well-known. They are predominantly business districts. One such place is Dinkytown, near the University. To the southwest of Downtown is Uptown, which is loosely defined as the area around the Uptown Theater near the intersection of Hennepin Avenue and Lake Street, and features a large number of restaurants, bars, and independently owned businesses. A new neighborhood is also being planned for the University of Minnesota region, including the Stadium Village area around the former University Stadium.
