Ribbon or Proboscis worms (Nemertina or Nemertea) are a Phylum of worms consisting of about 1200 species. There are two orders: Anopla and Enopla.

They don't have body cavities and are unsegmented. They are usually carnivorous, feeding mostly on small invertebrates.

Most Nemertea live in shallow seas and coastal waters, with a few inhabiting fresh water or damp soil. They range in length from 1 mm to as much as 30 meters (Lineus longissimus). Their bodies end with a proboscis. The proboscises of some Nemertea end in a poisonous stylet.

Ribbon worms can eat up to 95% of its own body when there are no other sources of food.
