Niazi

 

Niazi

Niazi is a famous Pashtun tribe who now live mainly in Mianwali and in the province of Punjab, as well as in parts of the N.W.F.P of Pakistan.

Most Niazis speak Siraiki language rather than their ancestral Pushto but nevertheless strictly observe Pashtunwali, the Pashtun code of honor. Strong Niazi clans at this day are Khans of Esakhel, the Nawab Rokhris and the Khan of Mochh.

The Niazi Tribe has produced some of the most famous people of Pakistan. Some famous people are (Shaheed) Haji Ikram Ullah Khan Pai Khel, Amir Abdullah Khan Rokhri, Abdul Sattar Niazi, Dr Sher Afgan Niazi, Gul Hameed Khan Rokhri, Aamir Hayat Khan Rokhri, Imran Khan Niazi (Ex Captin Of Pakistan Cricket team). The most famous Niazi families are the Khans of Essakhel, Nawab Rokhri's who have political and economical power. The Rokhris became famous due to Nawab Amir Abdullah Khan Rokhri, who was one of Pakistan's most famous and respected politicians. The Rokhris still remain one of the most powerful Pathan tribes, controlling the politics of Mianwali and Punjab. The other famous Niazi family is the Khan of Mocch.

  • Hati Khel
  • Shadi Khel
  • Pai Khel
