NLO

NLO

NLO, or Non-Linear Optics, is apparatus in which linear input results in non-linear output.
NLO is commonly used in optical switches and optical computers.
One method uses 30volts across a long length of LiNO material to change a light beam's polarization, depending on whether the device is switched "on" or "off" electrically. This is described as electro-optical switching of light.
