NyameThe Ashanti people of Ghana in West Africa believed in a supreme being called Nyame, whose sons were lesser gods. Each son served a different purpose: one was a rainmaker, another the sunshine (etc.) Worship of Nyame was the exclusive preserve of the king through his priests; lesser people worshiped her sons.
