NYU College of Arts & Science
The College of Arts and Science of New York University (CAS) is the original school of NYU. It was founded in 1831 by Albert Gallatin. CAS remains the largest undergraduate school at NYU and serves as the iniversity's undergraduate liberal arts division. According to university statistics, there are approximately fifteen applicants for each place in CAS. The school itself has an enrolment of 5,700 students. CAS grants students bachelor's degrees in arts or science in more than fifty fields of study.
