One Financial Center
, Boston One Financial Center is a modern skyscraper in the Financial District neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Built in 1983, it is tied with the First National Bank Building as Boston's 8th-tallest building, standing 180 m (590 ft) tall, and housing 46 floors. The building is located on a triangular piece of land next to South Station and the Federal Reserve Bank Building. A 90 ft tall glass-roofed lobby occupies the first two stories. During the Big Dig, extra care was needed to avoid subsidence of the soil under the building, as construction was underway just 25 ft from the building's foundation. The building was constructed on soil rather than bedrock due to the geography of the site.
