Our lake"Our lake" was a jingoistic term once used within the British Royal Navy to refer to the seven tenths of the Earth's surface covered by salt water. It appears to have been a humorous play on the label the Roman Empire gave to the Mediterranean Sea - Mare Nostrum or 'Our Sea'.With the rise of the US Navy and the imperial fleet of Japan, the term fell out of Royal Navy usage some time between World War I and World War II.
